Corsair 31 : rotating mast or not ?

Do trimarans beneficiate much from having a rotating wing mast ?
Is this a performance only addition ?

Check the multihull archives there is a thread going on rotating rigs on cruising boats. Short answer is yes a trimaran will benefit from a rotating mast. Whether this benefit is worthwhile may depend on how you intend to use the boat. Some feel that it is more prone to failure than a standard rig.
