Re: Could anyone help me identify the make of this trimaran please

In case the thread is still alive or someone reads this, from looking at the photos, hull shape/transom shapes, etc., I think it's likely an Ed Horstman TriStar around 38 to 45 ft long, and one that rather sadly was modified from the original plan. Someone noted "condominium". Yeah, though the interior likely just has the same standard layout, but with tons more light. Might be another designers, but I don't think it's a Cross design highly modified, although certainly possible. Anybody know if it's got a fin or maybe used daggerboards?

Re: Could anyone help me identify the make of this trimaran please

UPDATE
So i flew to the states from the uk and booked a ferry to go and see this tri.
I'd took all on board what you guys had said.
Maybe fate but the ferry to the bahamas got cancelled , i think i'd already decided i did not need a project of this scale or "a very expensive free boat"
I also think if i'm going to buy a anything , it needs to be the right time and at the minute it's not quite.
So the search goes on.
Thanks for the advise and i'll pass it on to my us friends that are all looking at it .
Ps i was flying out there anyhow to visit friends .

Thanks woody

Don't worry Woody, I have a horse with 1 leg that you will like. Its free!

Sorry your dream did not happen. It will I am sure but you would have needed a white stick and dark glasses to fall in love with that.

Are you set on getting a tri?

To be honest no , love the big lagoons but out of my price range until i sell up.
I think a nice big ketch might be right.
Think maybe i could stretch to £50k for the right boat in the right location and probably in a good few months too.
Thanks

Sometimes these guys can be a bit hard on a newcomer and you really didn't ask for opinions but an identification. There is nothing wrong with tris and if I was going to choose a multi it would be a tri. The one in the photos seems to be added on to make more living space instead of helping with sailing ability.

I've had some sailing on Cross and Piver and those that said it looked like a Cross I would have to disagree with.

Good luck in your search.

Are you saying it's more like a Piver or possibly Horstman?
If the OP would give us the boat name then we could look it up if it's documented.

Re: Could anyone help me identify the make of this trimaran please

Skiper john don't worry about me i can hold my own.
Just a quick update the tri has now been assigned , gave , claimed or what ever you'd like to call it. By one of the guys and his dad. All you great advise has been highlighted on the forum and taken in. I think theres been enough makes to piper , cross ect to give them a start on identifing it ( it might have a big badge on when they get to it ) .
I did indeed as for identification and no opinion so i could do my own research ( probably mostly on here )
for now lets leave it to the boys and hopfully get some better picture to get a more informed opinion from the more informed and sociable peeps on here
