Cruising Part Time

I am new to the forum and to forums in general.

From what I read there are an increasing number of part time cruisers participating in the cruising rallies. So I know they exist.

I am looking for your advice on how to contact these cruisers to see if they would like to put there catamarans into our long term charter program. It operates more like a partnership in a cruising flotilla. I don't know of anyone else doing this. I think this would be of interest to some of the owners that don't live aboard.

Am I out of line to ask this question?

If you would care to promote such activities you may do so in the classifieds section with one single post, but please do not conduct activities like that within the main message threads. We are here to promote our own agenda of genuine boating discussions - not others peoples commercial activities. I'm sure you can understand that position. It's really one of the more important ones.

Welcome to Cruisers Forum. A lot here to read and participate in. Always a great place to share your stories and gain new friends and knowledge.

cruising part time

Hi Paul

Sorry. I believe so strongly, that going cruising with your familly is such a good thing to do, that we set up this company to help make it possible. I was not really trying to promote or sell anything, just looking to network with cruisers out there for what I think is a good oportunity for them. We are basically a non profit company set up to help people go cruising more affordably. This translates into a good deal for those who put boats into our program.

We have even had people go cruising for free with our boat, and will be offering free sailing instruction, with our boat. I am subsidising this personally so I am not really trying to sell anything, rather I have been giving things away.

I would like to get feed back from the forum members on how to make our program better but if this is not ok with the rules of the forum then I appologize.

You might consider adding a section to your website, outlining the program from the boat-owners’ point of view.

As Paul suggests, a single post in the “Classified” section of the CruisersForum, would be acceptable.

This query might be better placed in the “Making a living” thread.

I don't doubt that you feel strongly and I can see great possibilities for you but we feel strongly that we are not here to provide any company free advertisement.

The single free Classified offer is still out there as I noted and you should take advantage of the offer and please feel free to participate in the forum as a regular member. Those with sailing knowledge and experience are in great demand here. I'm sure you have a lot of interesting things you could discuss with the rest of the members. On that basis we really do want to welcome you to the Cruisers Forum.
