Dead Fluxgate (switch 51)

Hello everybody,

I am in Turkey and my fluxgate compass just got the good idea to pass from live to death during my holidays...(pilot is raymarine st 6001 with the 400 corepack 12V) Do some of you experienced the Gyrocompass sold by raymarine (E12101), is it worth the 700usd ? or i better stay with the fluxgate ?

Thnaks for your help

eric

Re: Dead Fluxgate (switch 51)

The gyro will significantly help the autopilot, especially in downwind sailing. A less expensive way to go would be to add an internal gyro to the 400 computer.
