Defunct Cat Manufacturers?

I have been looking at used cats, primarily Lagoon, FP and Leopard in the 2005-2010 models. Recently I have seen ads for other boats that I assume are either custom builds or builders that went out of business during the 08 recession.

My question is, are there particular brands/models/designs that are worthy of pursuing? I’m not looking for a performance cat, livability is more important than speed. My current favorite is the FP Orana, what is comparable?

Manta definitely.
Ocean Cat 49 was a basically a stretched Manta.

Wasn't the Oceancat rather a splashed/stolen Lerouge Freydis design?

Aikane and Switch (Sud composites) catamarans are worth looking in to. Both are daggerboard designs by VPLP.

Dolphin from Brazil.

PDQ made good boats in Canada. They made mostly smaller boats but had a few larger ones around 42 or 44'. They morphed into the Antares boats now built in Buenos Aires.
