Re: Do Cat Owners Actually Beach Their Cats ?

In This parking spot the sand was soft so the keels sank a bit as did the bottoms of the blades. Leaves a small area to scrape which I can live with til I park on a harder spot as I need to drill a hole through the hull for my water maker.

My boat in moored in a marina where on spring lows the boat sits on deep mud with the keels sunk in so it tends to keep the bottom of the rudders and keels cleanClick image for larger version

Re: Do Cat Owners Actually Beach Their Cats ?

I would personally be careful on lifting one hull at a time as you might get a sideways force on the opposite keel and if sacrificial like mine will break if an extreme high force is applied sideways. The boat will also be out of balance so I would not do that.

Firm beach sand is much better . This spot I parked my boat is only 5nm from my mooring compared to the hard sand 30nm away so it was just more convenient and the growth was getting beyond convenient .
