Dale, ya gotta remember that if it sounds too good to be true, it usually means someone is trying to scam you out of your money.

Jim (a boring old fart in many ways, sometimes a realist)

Hey Jim, I get it, im only joking, and arent taking the whole concept to seriously. Im actually very mechanically etc minded (mechanic by trade etc) and have a reasonable grip on boat systems etc. But the whole concept is cool to me both aesthetically and systems wise, so I'm happy to entertain the whole "what if" sometimes, why not? Everything starts from "the what if stage"In reality a boat like that (actually a whole lot less) is nothing but a dream for me unless I inherit some ridiculous money from some unknown rich relation, but dreaming free. "What if?
We cant even seem to get past holding our masts up with wire, pretty slow to evolve us yachties!

Gotta admit, I never thought of that!

Re: Dreaming

Just seen their "spec sheet" on their website. I found this amusing:

Displacement Lightship 33,000 kg
Displacement Maximum Load 36,000 kg

So an 80 foot cat that sleeps 13 and is intended for extended cruising only has a maximum payload (deadweight tonnage) of 3,000kg?

Re: Dreaming

Ah, but when you fuel it up with hydrogen it gets lighter...

Re: Dreaming

This document shows some numbers for Lagoon 620, according to it maximum load is 7770kg. However, it's still not very clear what's included in light boat and what's - in full load weight.
