Fast Cruisers sub 42ft?

So Im looking at the Seawinds, but really there is nothing to making them faster than my lagoon 42 was.

Are there any 5-10 year old boats that are known for speed due to build materials etc making them much lighter?

I should say 33-42ft

Mate - I sailed past many Lagoon 380/39/40/410/etc on my 1000xl, I sailed at 8 knots in 10 knots of breeze when most of tham had to motor, but apart from Seawind, any Pescott Whitehaven, Oram, Schionning, Crowther and even Lightwave will be a starting point.

Thanks for that, a lot of those are using lightweight materials instead of foam and gfc,

I think the 1000xl goes fast largely as its lightweight being a smaller boat.

But which boats are quick because of production materials?

Schionning, seems interesting.

While I think the Seawinds are a wonderful platform for cruising, I would not consider any of them fast.

Gemini 105 MC is 34 foot, After 2002 models, I need 3 knots of wind to start moving,

It depends on what you call fast, And how much junk you carry on them,

Outremer and Catana both have 42s. Both brands also have older boats that are even smaller in length.

I mean that cruiser will probably allow some peaceful and relaxed sailing, 41 ft yacht should probably have a 8-9 tonn of displacement, not very tall rig. Pogo is a boat for racing of course.

Fast cruiser should be something like a Gunboat maybe, while gunboat has a wonderful speed, the sailing will be or can be relaxed and lazy

Have you been aboard one? It's comfortable and spacious as hell... I'd love to cruise one. It also is relatively well mannered if you aren't trying to hit upper teens.

I would agree that the Pogo is a performance cruiser, a very nice boat indeed; but one thing it is not, is a multihull. We're in the multihull forum and the OP is asking about multihulls.

Not 5 years old...yet....Maine Cat 38, very light weight, dagger boards, very cruise-able. The Seawinds are good boats, but the Maine Cats are a fair bit less weight.

The Maine Cat 30 is below you size requirements, but lots of them out there, many go to the bahamas every year. A very different animal.
