Gemini Purchase! Now what?

As some of you may recall, my buddy was looking at a Gemini and I went to see it with him. He's now reached agreement on price with the seller and has a contract. He needs a surveyor, and assuming the sale goes through after survey and sea trial, he needs a recommendation of a good yard that's fair, honest and reasonably priced, particularly considering that he's going to be dealing with all this stuff long distance.

So with that, can anyone make recommendations of a surveyor and yard in Deltaville? Keep in mind that it's a Gemini, so a surveyor and yard experienced with cats could be useful (the yard work he wants is not really cat specific, so it's less of an issue there).

Also, is there a size limit on the dink they can get for use on the davits between the two hulls?

Thanks all.

Gemini's that sail Blue water shouldn't have a dinghy in davits without modifying the boat. The Fiberglass is too light to support the load and will fail. A 105 in my marina damaged his in this manor, while in transit from Chesapeake to Port Canaveral.

The outfit that repaired the damage recommended he remove the davits or reinforce that area. They reinforced it.

standard 9' inflatable. So, say 100 lbs?

He's on his way back to Florida now and I should see him this weekend. I'll get some photos.

Call the factory in Annapolis. They should be able to recommend a surveyor in the area, as well as a yard that knows the boat. They can also answer your dink question.
