Hi just looking at the heights of the over head power cables on the Gold Coast Seaway . Has any one sailed a lagoon 400 thru the Seaway. Very keen to know
Cheers John.

Do you mean up at the islands, taken a helia and a 440 under the o'head line at around 1/2 tide but the height for clearance is on the maps, never gone south of the seaway so can't comment on lines in that area down towards the sea world area.

The Seaway has no powerlines.

As mentioned, there are high tension lines closer to Moreton Bay, but this is not the Seaway. We cleared them easily and our mast is higher than normal for a 38 foot Lightwave. No other powerlines in any location that you can access as far as I know.

Yes the Northern end from Morton to Gold Coast. Charts show 20.3. We have an air draft of 21.4.
Do you know what your air draft would be
Cheers
John

No Powerlines in the seaway. Up the channel to the north both the Main Channel and Canaipa Passage have 20M min at HAT (Highest astronomical tide, and if you stick close to straddie on Canaipa or close to the west on the Main channel you can get much much more. Lagoon 400 will be fine, but usual caveats about looking for yourself apply

Re: Gold Coast Seaway

The posted clearances are at HAT and at the lowest point in the catenary sag. One can go closer to the tower on the east side and get significantly greater clearance. This coupled with going at a lower tidal state will get you through ok.

Re: Gold Coast Seaway

We have a L400 and passed safely under the powerline at Russel Island by staying just to the east of the west pylon in the channel. Plenty of clearance at mid tide. I would estimate more than 3m clearance for us.
