Good Online Chandlers in France - Suggestions Please ...

I will be picking up my Lagoon 380 in France in a couple of months and would like to purchase as much as possible online prior to picking it up. Either from European suppliers that deliver to France or worldwide that deliver to France.
Things I need such as a watermaker (spectra 150 or Katadyn) solar panels and safety gear and general sailing equipment. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rob

You'll find the shops from La Rochelle onwards along the Atlantic coast. I would not buy pure online as you have no control on what is supplied. Do it when you are there. We check here what is the least expensive and some stuff comes from the UK, some from Georg Kniest (expensive) and I have good experience with Compass. It varies from item to item. France is quite expensive to our standards, so I never buy equipment there.

A few that I have dealt with and had no problems:

Catalogue Vidal Marine - Vidal Diffusion Marine

SOFOMARIN - Plomberie marine, Industrie pour les Professionnels du Nautisme

One of France's biggest distributor of chandlery is a franchise set-up to be found nearly everywhere called Accastillage Diffusion www.accastillage-diffusion.com. They do not have an online shop though.

Another tip is SVB, Germany's biggest online chandlery distributor. Here is a link to they English pages of their online shop (despite what it says hereafter!?) 15,000 items permanently in stock. Catalog 2012 – over 500 pages water sports – hot off the press! Request now. - SVB
Apart from attractive prices what makes SVB interesting on an international level is that they have a Europe-wide transport policy of charging only €12.50 for any shipments up to 30 kgs!

SVB is a total different cookie in the basket. Very, very interesting prices. If you have a long list of buying then they are my checkpoint one. I bookmarked the page after checking a few items. Difference is sometimes 20% in their favour. Thanks for the tip!!!!

I have installed a couple of these. I am really impressed, the service is excellent. Eco-Sistems Watermakers. Potabilizadoras de bajo consumo para barcos. I am not connected with them in any way. I an also thinking of getting one of these myself sometime. The ones I have installed are the Eco-Sistems Watermakers, sea water purification for sailboats. S60 Standard system.

Solar Panels, do not buy in a marine store. I Paid 419 Euros for a 235 watt 24v panel retail price in Mallorca. Much cheaper in mainland Spain.

There are two other German chandlery distributors worth mentioning:
Compass Yachtzubehör Bootszubehör Shop Segelbekleidung Wassersport
AWN Yacht- und Bootszubehör Hamburg kaufen
Both have online-shops, only in German language, will deliver worldwide. Very competitive pricing, but limited range of products.

See previous post. Please realize that if you are in France, ordering from Spain is like ordering from the state next door. Their web page is multi language. The most impressive thing about these watermakers is their low power consumption. I cant give you prices, as I don't know them and it would be contrary to forum rules. All I do know is I have installed and worked on several and they are damn good.
