Re: Good youtube channels for cat cruising life?

Thank you all so very much. I have subscribed to all of those channels and have a wealth of catamaran videos to watch now. I hope to see what it's like on a cat, just living, as well as sailing if any of them talk about it. I also hope to see footage of cats sailing through lots of different sea conditions.

Thanks again everyone. More than I expected.

Re: Good youtube channels for cat cruising life?

Out Chasing Stars just finished their circumnavigation. The episodes ran hot and cold if you ask me, but a lot of their earlier ones about settling and equipping the boat are plenty intersting.

While I watch most of those channels, The O'Kelleys is the more info based than the others. I'm a supporter of Zingaro (Sunset Slim here) but James' approach is probably a little too extreme for me as he takes Livin La Vida Broka to the max.

The Wynns would be a good starting point - especially now as they are preparing their boat after not being able to get back to it for a year due to the virus.

Sort of... They borrowed a 22' leaner in Vancouver and are sailing the BC islands, with the baby. Looks challenging, like its too much togetherness for them.

The boat is tiny. Ben can't stand upright in the cabin. The head is barely big enough for the actual head.

They teased in the last episode that maybe they were on their way back to Nahoa.

I believe the premise here is flawed.

Sailing Parlay Revival will certainly reset expectations if looking at ex-cruiser fleet

Another vote here for

Especially if you are thinking of a lower budget, without too many luxuries.
You can even buy their boat at the moment.
The series is worth watching for the amazing drone footage of Western Australia anyhow.

TOugh to find catamarans sailing in truly "nautical" conditions. Most are shown cruising in winds below 25 knts. But here are a couple. I find myself revisting them several times a year, just for fun.

Action starts around the 4:00 minute mark.

This is even more extreme. 39 ft Leopard in big seas on a passage from Cape Town to Brisbane.

Check out the comments. One of the first ones is from Sailing LaVagabonde, asking for information. LOL.
