One of the differences between the Seawind 1000 and the Seawind 1000xl was stern extensions that looked like giant sugar scoops. Many older Seawind 1000 had similar mods added later. The 1000xl had one meter added to the loa, and that was kinda the default standard, but at least one 1000 had a four foot extension.

I fear this may be a thread diversion but I can visualise the "sugar scoop" now thanks as have seen such. The confusion was my definition of transom harking back to monohull days in the dim past when the transom was the bit behind the cockpit. Maybe catamarans have three transoms??? or it's all a transom considering the places we hang outboards on cats.
