I am looking for recommendations for a marina in Italy

We will be crossing the pond from Bermuda in May next year to head to the Med and would like to reserve a marina berth in Italy on the west coast somewhere in the vicinity of Rome and Genova. I am not fixed on this area and happy to be guided otherwise. I would just like to make landfall there as I have friends in those areas. I probably need the berth for just over a week or two before we continue on our way.

Our catamaran is 50ft long with a 27ft beam (15 m X 7.5m)

Any tips on clearing into the country at these marinas would also be MUCH appreciated.

Have a play around on www.noforeignland.com where you'll find lots of details about marinas and a few reviews

I chartered out of Marina di Scarlino and it had pretty nice facilities and was close to the train station which can get you to Florence pretty easily. no idea what slip costs are since we did not have that contingency.

There are many marinas to choose from along the Tyrrenian coast between Rome and Genova : Punta Ala, Cala Galera, Scarlino, Piombino, S. Vincenzo and Livorno in Tuscany. In Liguria, La Spezia Mirabello, Rapallo, Genova, Varazze. You should check with the marinas for availability in advance.

You should also check Navily. It has become the most used crusing guide and information sharing website in that area.
I am in La Spezia. If you come around to my place, I will be glad to shout you a beer.

Hi Lambretta,

A little bit late reply...but please do check out Marina di Scarlino in Puntone.

https://www.marinadiscarlino.com/en/index

One of the most beautiful and safe (I mean weatherlike protected ) harbours on the Italian west coast. Everything is there available at the marina. it is more like a resort.

Thx.
