If You Knew Then What You Know Now . . .

If you could go back in time and have the knowledge that a few years of sailing has given you, what would you do differently?

Would have made sure the boat had...........
would have not purchased.........
would have doubled up on.......
would have budgeted for........
and any other ideas, thoughts, regrets.............

Re: if you knew then what you know now

I made a bad choice of woman in the past. They kept luring me away from what I really wanted. So, the money was spent else where rather then boats.

"I spent most of my fortune on pretty women and fast boats. The rest I just wasted" Or was that fast woman and pretty boats?

Re: if you knew then what you know now

If I had known then that there was to be a GFC and boat prices were going to be smashed, I would not have got into this build but would have bought now for 50% off instead.

Re: if you knew then what you know now

never buy a thing untill i have owned and sailed the boat for at least a month.(certain safety gear is about the only exception to this rule). there are so many useless items i have bought over the years that lived their lives in lockers and never came out again until the boat was sold..

Re: If You Knew then what You Know Now . . .

Since we bought our cat and started to live in the local marina, I found out I was being poisoned by the maple and sycamore trees in the neighborhood of the apt complex I own and lived in for 16 years. I used to take all kinds of shots and across the counter drugs for my allergies and now I'm free of allergies unless I go to local parks. Don't get me wrong -- owning the apt's is making us a living and paying for our crusing without having to be there most of the time. Soon I think I'll put the apt's in management and cast off, as soon as my Social Security starts paying, I think next year.
