Installing marine a/c on a '06 Leopard 40

I did not get factory-installed a/c when I bought my Leopard 40, but am thinking about doing it now. Anyone know of a reputable place in east-central/south FL to take it to?? Thanks for any help.

Murray Marine in Riveria Beach. Grab a dock at Riveria Beach Marina it is being renovated but the docks are done and first class. Murray Marine is about 3 blocks away. Do you already have a through hull or are you planning on Teeing off the toilet intake ? If you need 1 installed Cracker Boy is right next door and can haul you out.

Re: Installing marine a/c on a '06 Leopard 40

Sorry pushed wrong button.
And heat installed . the units were almost new from a Lagoon 45. I was just Lucky to find these units at a reduced rate. When I was looking I went to the Ft lauderdale boat show and the vendors were very helpful . If I had not already contracted for the used units I would have bought threw them . I cant remember the vender as that info is on my boat in fl. I am at my land home in ark.
Any way the best I could learn was for the air to have there own thru hull fittings , Also when you have the boat hauled cut thru hulls for a water maker and a gen set. You may not plan to install these now but if you want them in the future it will be in place . I have a 40' leopard and installed radar, ais ,solar ,TV antena ,and gen set .
all in all about 30 K . I would have been much further ahead if I had bought a boat with all the bells and whistles.

If you can use a self contained unit, most of these are now fairly simple DIY projects. They come fully charged with refrigerant and ready to go.

Under the settee in the main salon. Our Leopard 40 has 2 cruiseair 16k BTU turbo units. You do have a genset right?

Re: Installing marine a/c on a '06 Leopard 40

ShaktisBoy: thanks...I was thinking under aft bunks...lots of room. No--I plan to install a genset with the a/c...as well as a water maker. I'm thinking it's beyond my ability to cut holes in my hulls (as well as bulkheads for the a/c venting), so am going to leave it to a pro (thanks for the vector on Murray Marine...will call them)
