The "who knows where" part makes finding insurance more difficult and quite a bit more expensive - it narrows down the potential insurers. Pantaneaus offers some good rates for European boats but I don't know what their surcharge is going to be for travelling outside of the EU.

I used Admiral (Welcome to Admiral Boat Insurance) for several years and was very pleased with their price and service. I did switch from them to the charter fleet manager's policy as Admiral became expensive for a boat in bareboat charter, in the hurricane belt and in the water. Pantaenius wouldn't even quote for me at the time.

Running "Insurance company recommendations" through our handy, dandy custom Google search engine produced two pages of results.

Insurance company recommendations - Google Search

I've been using Besso Ltd (broker), who represents T.L. Dallas Special Risks, since we sailed to the Caribbean. I'm satisfied with them so far. Besso is based in London.
