Re: Jackplates on cat?

Hi and good morning to all!

Am totally new on this site, please forgive me if any mistakes.

Chotu I’ve seen and read you had a custom jackplate for your catamaran, I was very interested to see how it looks like. Please may I ask for some pictures.

Am looking to custom making a OB lift system just like the catamaran in perto Rico touring catamaran with the two OB in between the hulls. I did see one also in Bermuda. Sure would appreciate it very much for some pictures of OB setup units on catamaran.

I’ve got a local build catamaran build back in 1998, and am only trying the add the OB on them to cruise the islands in the Seychelles islands.

Thanks and looking forward to some pictures.

I want to wish you all a safe holiday and all the very best for the new year.

Re: Jackplates on cat?

I know the jackplates you are talking about, and thought about them for a previous boat I owned. But they only go up several inches (I thought it was 5” at the time)? And I needed more…..

So I was thinking that if I installed it and it was not enough, to just buy another plate and attach it to the first, doubling the height adjustment. Since the plates are made for very large engines, my thinking was that the added arm moment would not bend the whole assembly downwards too badly with the much smaller engines I had. Of course it would be twice as expensive and you would have to have two controllers.

Good luck.
