Sand crab: Yes, the fellow who bought our boat renamed it Skabenga -- he designed and sold lures and that was the name of his company. He was going to the SoPac and I lost track of him after a few years.


Cameron65: Regarding the St F engine placement, we never experienced a problem with it. Indeed, I'd think the most common problem would be an accidental line trailing in the water. That's most likely to be on the outward side of the hull and get sucked into an aft prop. With the props between the hulls under the bridgedeck, that would be less likely to happen. The only time we had any issue was going through some sort of plant material floating on the ocean we didn't see (it was at night) and some of it getting sucked into the water intake. That wasn't a big deal -- 15 minutes to clean it out and verify that the impeller was OK. That probably would have happened with stern engines, too. There's pros and cons to everything!
