In general, larger size anchors should be less vulnerable to this, as the opening will be larger.
Oh. Is that all they are worried about? In that case I’m not too worried about it. I’ve slept probably somewhere around 400-500 nights or so on these rollbar anchors.

They seem to work pretty well for me.

The Manson even worked through a category 3 hurricane direct hit of the eye.

Yeah, that's the primary concern. Actually holding power isn't the problem, and the clogged rollbar / no reset issue only happens in the right bottoms where it can pack solid (usually sticky mud, or mud with sticks / weeds in it). If that happens, the anchor is basically a ball, not an anchor, and needs to be cleaned off to reset. And this is no exception to the concept that larger anchors work disproportionately better (partly due to soil mechanics, partly due to extra weight, partly because the anchor gets bigger while potential bottom debris doesn't).

12T of lagoon 400 cat. 25kg rocna, scope 36m in 3m water, that increased to (suspected) 7m. Flat water 30kn tradewinds, on high tide. When we retrieved anchor, several hours later came out clean. However it was dragging around 500m ! Been told there is very soft mud that is of no use for anchoring (burnett river).

It is clear that mud is not friend of rocna. Every time we pick up anchor in mud there is reasonable work needed to clear anchor of mud. I would expect 20 % of time anchor in mud will have difficulties resetting. Other anchors should be bit better as they without that bar, but not that much better. Some simply set anchor with max revs and hope of no reset will take place if wind changes. I dont like these odds.

well, it actually matters in this case. See pic, there was no damage to bulkheads although grounding was pretty bad, involving many rocks. Lady that took this pic in social media already burried the boat. That CF take on lagoon bulkeads are all crap is spreading misinformation.
