With regard to sailing in the Med in the later part of the year. Many people do it as the the wind system changes and it makes for good sailing. This all depends on which part of the HUGE Med you are in.

Pricing for winter in Marinas. Many more now charge Multi Hulls the same as Mono Hulls. It is just a matter of asking around - speak to other live aboards on other forums eg YBW.com Some marinas do not charge at all (secret source) and others give such huge discounts ie pay for 3 days get 4 free inclusive of electric and water.

So do not be put off coming to the Med.

Great! Thanks Peter. We really wanted to see Europe and would have gone that way anyway. The more I look into Trimarans the more I like them. Mostly because of the prices. It seems like you can get pretty decent boats under $100K. The only thing scary about Tri's in that price range is that they're almost always home built. If I built the thing it would last a thousand years, but probably not be able to move under sail as it would weigh a million pounds! ;-)
