Marine AC units - mixed brands?

Hypothetical question:

Can anyone think of a reason that having two different brands of marine AC units on board would be any type of issue? Say having a DOMETIC installed in one cabin and a CruiseAir in another.

I would think this would only extend to spares, but honestly, I don't know what spares you would keep around for AC units.

I can't imagine there would be, but sometimes you guys surprise me with interesting answers.

No huge issues that I can think of.

Dometic acquired Cruisair. And Marine Airrrrr.

Could just be your Cruisair unit is older, and a previous Cruisair unit had already been replaced with a newer Dometic.

It's useful when the newer units can re-use the same control panels...

No issues at all. You’re right, no spares to carry for the average sailor. With minimal care they last a long time without attention.
