Martinique to Panama routing?

Hi
We will be sailing across the Atlantic in November/December this year, arriving in Martinique before Christmas.
What routes are suggested to enjoy the Caribbean for a season or two before heading through the canal. We prefer quieter anchorages, snorkeling, diving, surf, not too much sailing between and downwind
We may stay through the hurricane season and do some road trips so Id be interested where is good for that as well.
Also what is the best time to go through the canal to make the most of the Pacific before cyclone season (arriving in Australia or sitting it out in the islands somewhere)
Also interested in the basic weather patterns for the area.
Something like this for a start, if anyone could fill in for the other months that would be great. Just starting researching so basic info for now is much appreciated.

December - Martinique - wind NW - temp 26 -
January - - - etc

Thanks again

Can't speak about the Caribbean as I am not too familiar with it but you should plan on leaving panama no later than March 1st. Plan on leaving the Galapagos no later than April 1st. Lots to see in the pacific in just one season, so best to get an early start. Cyclones are rare in the eastern pacific around that time. If you can leave the boat in Atapaki or Ra'iātea during cyclone season and do the second half the year after even better.
