moving batteries aft ?

I am fitting new batteries soon , 4 x Trojan 105 , they are too big to fit in where the existing batteries are , which is close to the centres of the hulls , so may be put back in the engine room where the batteries were originally .
My question is ,
will moving 56 kilos back by 2 x metres make any difference to the motion of the boat ?

any ideas please ?

Re: moving batteries aft ?

No. That's less than the weight of one person, not counting any box or hardware. On a 38' boat, with the weight down low, the difference will not be noticeable.

Putting your batteries in the engine room is not ideal given heat issues. It's where mine are, but I don't have any other option.

If you have a dedicated start battery perhaps you could just move that one back to the engine room and leave the house bank where it is, if that gives you enough room.

Not at all likely, certainly not so you'd notice.
Would you notice the presence of another small person in the cockpit?

Re: moving batteries aft ?

I would be more concerned about the length of the battery cables and proper overcurrent protection than the shift in weight.

If you are moving them to where they were originally, you may be making an improvement if you're shortening the cables.
