Multihull Rally near Seattle, (Everett) May 3-5

2019 NWMA RALLY

Northwest
Multihull Association invites you to participate in a weekend rally May 3 - 5, 2019, based at the Port of Everett, WA. We will be at South Guest Dock 1 - note the change in guest dock location from last year. The dock is just past Anthony’s HomePort as you approach the marina from the south. A high-resolution marina map is available at http://www.portofeverett.com/home/showdocument?id=11323.

Seattle-area boats are invited to sail in convoy up to Everett Friday evening. We will leave Meadow Point buoy to Port at 2 PM GPS time (first boat to tie up at Everett has bragging rights). Convoys from other ports will be arranged as needed based on expected attendance.

Friday evening may not include a formal gathering, as arrival times are highly variable. There are several restaurants around the marina; they may be busy on the Friday evening. We are considering making a group reservation around 730pm depending on early RSVPs.

Saturday we will have an informal distance race, course dependent on conditions, to be announced at a 9AM skippers meeting on the dock. If it is really light, we may just make it around Gedney (aka Hat Island), which would be about 8 miles round trip. If we have nice wind, we will head up to the green can #1 buoy at the head of Holmes Harbor (about 27 miles round trip). Start time will be 10 AM, starting at the Green Can Buoy “AO” which is 0.8 miles south east of the mouth of the Everett harbor. We will make the course decision Friday evening, and distribute it by email. We will calculate corrected times per PHRF ratings if you have one.

Saturday evening will have burgers, beer, and sides on the party barge at the guest dock. Sunday morning will feature a continental breakfast from 7:30-8:30 followed by a convoy back to our respective home ports. $10 covers Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast.

BOOK YOUR OWN MOORAGE AT THE GUEST DOCK WITH THE MARINA (be certain to tell them you are with our group). If you have more crew than berths, consider the hotel next to marina, INN at Port Gardner.

Our member's boats include Farrier, Corsair, Mainecat, Mahe, Catana, PDQ, Brown, White, Horstman etc. Can't say which ones will be there but enough to have a good time. You don't need a boat for the Saturday get together (come by car). If you do come then or Friday we will try hard to get you out on the water.

Let us know you are coming by emailing Jonathan Kallay at yoni at kallay dot net.

Hope to see you there!

Re: Multihull Rally near Seattle, (Everett) May 3-5

Bump. Here's an update from our awesome volunteer organizers. Note, we are having a gathering spot on Friday night and we are having pizza Saturday not a BBQ. See below. RSVP would be nice at the email below to have enough pizza! There's info and a link to a map of the marina on our website (right side of page)

The 2019 NWMA Rally starts tomorrow, but it's not too late to sign up! We'll kick things off on Friday with a convoy from Shilshole Bay Marina to the Port of Everett Marina, followed by dinner at Anthony's Woodfire Grill. On Saturday we have some friendly racing and a pizza dinner on the party barge. Then on Sunday morning we'll have a concluding breakfast together before sailing to our respective home ports. Bring your own boat for the whole shebang, just yourself as crew for one of the sailing legs, or family and friends for dinner.

Details:
SBM convoy leaves Meadow Point buoy to Port at 2 PM GPS time.
We have 250' of guest dock space reserved at South Guest Dock 1, available on a first-come, first served basis (pay for your own moorage when you arrive at the marina). Additional moorage space should be available elsewhere in the marina if our reserved space is all taken.
Friday night's gathering at Anthony's Woodfire Grill starts at 7:30 PM (pay your own way).
Skippers' meeting on Saturday at 9 AM; come to the meeting if you would like to crew and need to be matched with a boat.
Saturday's pizza dinner starts at 6 PM on the party barge next to the guest dock.
Sunday's breakfast is 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM on the party barge.
$10 per person covers dinner and breakfast.
Please RSVP to Jonathan Kallay at yoni at kallay.net including how many people you're bringing, what meals you plan to attend, and whether or not you want to crew or need crew for your own boat.
