Congratulations!

I'm now in my 2nd year of doing research on which cat to get. This will be my first cruising cat (having had Hobie cats in th past). I sold my monohaul nearly two years ago. I'm itching to get back into yacht ownership. It looks like you have experienced the same dissapointments and frustrations that I'm going through now.

But I'm sure it's well worth the wait. Congratulations again.

Re: Narrowing Cat Field

Bill, I highly recommend chartering your finalists. A week on board will reveal what you can and cannot live with. Your list sounds very close to mine. I found the easy place to "test drive" the Catana and Privilege is Guadeloupe.

Take two weeks and charter them each a week. As a bonus you will likely get to go aboard a host of variations at their charter docks: Location de voilier aux Antilles : avec Antilles Sail, louez votre catamaran ou monocoque avec ou sans skipper au départ de la Guadeloupe for Privilege 495 and Outremer 49; Luxury Yacht Charter, Sailboats for Charter or Rent, Dream Yacht Charter for Cantana 47 & 50. Both companies are in the Bas du Fort Marina, walk off one and on to the next.
