Need help - what is this?

Needing help with what this breaker is? Its from a 2013 Leopard 44/Sunsail 444. What confuses me is the 4 wires coming in and the 1 wire going out. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Need help - what is this?

Sure it’s not 1 going in and 4 coming out?? No way to trace wires?

A close-up pic would be nice.

Yep. It almost looks like there's a copper bus bar across the terminals at the top, but it's not a very clear picture.

Does it say anything on the unit?

Re: Need help - what is this?

From the fuzzy pic, it looks like four DIN rail mounted mini circuit breakers (MCB).

A clear, up close picture would avail the forum to review the specific device.

I suspect it provides for one power source lead and four load circuits, perhaps with circuit breakers for each load circuit.

Re: Need help - what is this?

I’m guessing that boat has four solar panels....

Re: Need help - what is this?

Ok, to "clear" things up (pun intended) this picture was taken before someone stole that breaker, and when the boat was "listed" for sale. Now there is a blank spot with 4 wires at the bottom, and 1 wire coming off the top.

I appreciate the responses and I'm working with what I got - the breaker is not there anymore is why I'm trying to figure out what it is so I can replace it...oh, and I'm not on the boat at the moment.

It had 2 solar panels to begin with.

Thanks for the help so far.

Ah well that certainly clarifies the situation and the title of your post.

FYI.

There are two distinct types of persons who participate on this forum:

1) Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.

I think that was a solar controller, 1wire to Bat+, 4 to panels B+, 1 to Ground Bat-
What did the old unit say it was, it was there, correct?

Re: Need help - what is this?

Well, I don't think that the breaker has more than 1 wire coming out of the top of it - the green wire actually went to the galvanic isolator, and no, the breaker was missing/stolen long before I saw what it was - this was a listing picture that I happened to save while still shopping.

But, I am leaning towards a solar breaker, but just not sure yet.

1 Wire coming out of the top would be Bat+.
The green wire indicates the ground as it goes to the Galvanic Isolator.
The other 4 wires are input wires to the controller as I can see, from the solar array.
Trace those 4 wires and you'll probably end up at what ever this puzzle was plugged into.
Cheers,

Re: Need help - what is this?

Looks like a surge protector that goes to ground under trip/fault conditions.
