Need some advice on listing our catamaran

We have a Jaguar 36 they we brought brand new in 2005 It was in the St Peterburg boat show that year. It has been repowered with new 3ym Yammar engines (2). It also has a new invertor, new batteries,0ne new airconditioner and one old ac which still works! 2 helm seats, 3 cabins one king and 2 queens. Also setee can also sleep 3
It has a spinnaker which was used twice..it has the original sails and stack pack. Refrigertor and freezer, teak and holly flooring and much more
My question is this: should we try to list it on cruisers forum or should we go with a broker?
We are both captains but in our 70's and I think our sailing days are coming to an end..
The boat is located in Marco Island Florida

Well, CF won't cost you 8% of the sale price and the members are really nice people too

Here in the states the brokers get 10%.
Advertising on CF is a good start but we’ve had the best luck advertising on sailboatlistings.com

Re: Need some advice on listing our catamaran

I am very interested in your a Jaguar 36 I am familiar with the boat and I'm located right here in Fort Myers for the weekend visiting my daughter and our grandson. I had an agreement on a St. Francis 43, but it fell through due to mechanical issues. I am ready to buy and have cash. Please contact me as soon as possible-email. 3levors at gmail dot com

+1 on SailboatListings. I bought and sold my boat there. Do not use Facebook because many are not on that site, like me.

CF costs nothing more than the time it takes to make up a good inventory of your boat and upload some good pictures of the boat inside and out..
Apollo Duck gives you free advertising for a copy and paste of your inventory, one photo and a link to where more photos can be viewed.
What it boils down to is whether you want to invest the time in selling your boat or paying a broker 10% to sell it for you..
Simple as that..

I think what you meant to say is, use Facebook as well to reach more people.

If you want to respond to may scam emails and text messages, try to sell it on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist.

If you are a serious Seller and want to reach bona fide sailboat buyers, you would be best to work with a Broker, negotiate a fee - and reasonable selling price - then get that Broker to have your vessel listed in Yachtworld.com - most knowledgeable buyers will find your boat there.

Another point, take lots of photos, not close ups of individual instruments etc but good pics that show the boat to its best, then cull the selection so that you have a dozen or so of the best. If you can't take good pics, no problem, find someone that can, may cost a little but it will help you move it on as quickly as possible.
All the best.

Nope. I didn't mean to say that. You should pull back from FB because, well, you know why.

If you want it to list, I suggest getting a lot of people to stand on one side of the boat....

Facebook actually has some decent sites to advertise on, and I agree the more places it’s advertised the better.

I think the last sentence sums it up. You will have to put up with the tire kickers and only you know the financial considerations. Sorry to hear you have reached the end of sailing but some times you need to be realistic.

Looks like you are already getting interest here. Nobody can represent your boat better than you. Another resource for sale by owners is Boattrader. Lastly Yachtcloser.com can handle the closing and money transfer. We have sold a boat and several houses ourselves and recommend it over a disinterested broker.
