Ruby Rose got hull two because seawind gave them a preview of the boat before public release.

Tula's endless summer is getting the 1160 which doesn't have as much of a waiting list as the 1370. Apparently they are going to be towing a Corsair Trimaran around while waiting for the 1160, probably loaned to them by seawind.

Not everyone but I like them. But there are lots of cool boats out there. I like the older Lagoon TPI 42 but finding one in good shape is a challenge. Many of the newer Lagoons are fine also as well as FPS, Outies, etc. There’s Maine Cats also with the enclosed cockpit. I used up my lifetime quota of photons so sailing while protected is a must for me. Lotsa choices which is a good thing.👍🏻

I've got to start me one of these businesses where people drop a $70k deposit for something they might see in 5 years (I assume they are taking a typical 10% deposit).

If the Rona holds out, you may need to look pre-1930 for what happens with inflation and market returns when the economy collapses.

If it makes you happy to take this deal...more power to ya.

Re: New Purchase Discount, does it exist?

I purchased a new Lagoon 40 in 2018. I did manage to negotiate a small discount, but I found other ways to mitigate the cost of purchasing a new Cat. Some of these were through research and planning and others i stumbled upon by good luck I guess. I am not prepared to discuss publically, but if you are intrested, PM me and we could set up a time to talk.

I can confirm a single digit overall discount plus a number of free packages on a new German production boat recently.

Re: New Purchase Discount, does it exist?

I would say it definately exists. Especially at boat shows. Especially if you want the floor model. I was at Annapolis last year in the fall and after months of negotiations, am 6th months into the build. I am not at liberty to discuss the details, which I think usually means that i got a good deal, but would say that it is a buyers market most of the time. feel free to DM me for any specific questions.

I sure hope you are wrong, but I tend to agree with you on this one. The expensive boat industry is highly vulnerable to what’s going on in the world right now. If I was purchasing today I’d buy something I could take possession of, even if it was not my first, second, or third choice.
