NW Multihull Assn. In Person & Zoom Meeting Tues, May 3, Seattle, Amazonia Transit

Hello Northwest Multihull Association*members and Multihull Enthusiasts!

Our next meeting (In person!) is*Tuesday evening, May 3, 2022.

We will also be streaming the meeting via Zoom at link below.

Time: * 6:30 pm (Pacific Time) Potluck*

Note:* we will be starting the presentation at 6:45 on the dot so that our speaker can make a 9PM ferry.* Please come a little early.

Stephen Ladd will be presenting at the NWMA May meeting. Steve is currently building a proa however his remarkable small-boat voyages, as*chronicled in his books*Three Years in a 12-Foot Boat*and*The Five Year Voyage: Exploring Latin American Coasts and Rivers,*were in small monohulls. We'll let that*pass.*

The three-year voyage took him to South America and down the*Orinoco*River*in*Squeak, a 12-foot home-built cold-molded cat yawl. The five-year voyage was made in a much-modified Sea Pearl, a 21-foot cat ketch. That time he and wife Ginny went all the way to*Argentina, exploring the Amazon,*Paraguay, Uruguay, and other major rivers, including*giving birth to their son.* This is an amazing voyage with very little local information.* Here is their*blog spot:*https://ginnyandsteve.blogspot.com/

*Steve has a wealth of experience pushing small boats to the limit of their capability, so when he decides that his next boat will be a proa (now half complete) it is worth finding out why. How did his earlier experiences affect that decision, and his design choices?

*Meeting location:* The usual:* Puget Sound Yacht Club, 2321 North Northlake Way, Seattle, WA 98103
