Aquila you paint a very negative picture, your quotes are very high. Also you are assuming the boat would need moved, not necessarily so. Some of these project boats didn’t flood so engines might be ok. True, you will never sell one of these boats for top end prices but if you document the quality work you will be doing it will be able to be sold. I wouldn’t go into one of these projects expecting to make money, but you could end up with a cat at under market cost.

Re: overpriced storm damaged catamarans40

Well. "It all depends".

These are not huge boats and so a lot of repair can be done by a SKILLED and KNOWLEDGBLE new owner.

If you 'transport' 'order' and 'have this that done by' you never arrive at a reasonable cost!

Not in a new buy nor with your own boat that you may own already for years.

Hired work is expensive.

BTW you do not have to trust me, this is a SM place anyways, but I tell you I met a young French guy in Martinique who bought an 'abandoned' FP catamaran fron the harbourmaster there for EUR 1,00.

I have seen the slip. He did pay EUR 1,00.

He had a most impressive boat ex the mast. I cannot guess how many hours he put into it. But the result was something impressive to say the least.
