P495 Owner’s Manual ?

Hi all, does anyone know where I can find a Privilege 495 catamaran owners manual? Or does someone have one?

What is it you want to know? The owners manual on Privilege's is generic to the range of the boats and provides very little information that is of use. About the only useful thing it tells you is suggested reefing strategy. There is then another guide that is specific to each build and shows electrical and plumbing schematics. But these are unique to a hull number and so won't necessarily apply that well to yours. In my experience, any electrician or plumber who comes aboard will spend no more than about 30 seconds looking at that before putting it down and getting on with looking and seeing what is actually on the boat!`

They just emailed me the manual. Of course it’s not going to help with things like the electrics as they are set up now but it still has a lot of useful info. :-)

I'm desperately looking for individual hull measurements of the Privilege 495. Is there any chance it might be in the manual?



Otherwise, any other ideas how to obtain these measurements (other than measuring it)?

Thank you very much for your response. I'm trying to register a P495 and the registry requested me to provide the exact hull dimensions (other than length and beam), for whatever reasons.. They mentioned a builder's certification, which I am not even sure if it exists from Privilege.



I am a bit at a loss here, as I need to registering her asap, but I'm currently nowhere near the boat so that I could measure it myself. Otherwise, I have no idea where else I could find this information.

There was no documentation on my boat that detailed the dimensions needed for Registration under some countries Flags. If I remember correctly, to be entered on the UK Red Ensign register my boat needed to be measured by a properly qualified surveyor.

Actually, just gone and checked and details are here... https://www.ukshipregister.co.uk/registration/leisure/ . Builders Certificate is for a new boat, for resale the bill of sale is needed AND it needs to be measured by a surveyor who will then issue a Certificate of Tonnage.

Other registration schemes will be different but all those that come under the UK Ships Register (including all those flags of convenience like BVI, Cayman Islands etc) have the same requirements.
