Prout 50 Quasar

Hello out there!

After some deep research on different cats, I have come to the conclusion that it is a Prout 50 Quasar that I want. The bad thing with this is that there are not so many around (it would have been easier if I looked for a FP for example).
So...I try with you all also, to see if I can get any luck.
Do you own a Quasar yourself or do you know of any one out there, and if so, do you know if it is for sale? I am in no hurry, so if you come across one some time from now, remember this thread and give me a note, please. I live in Sweden (EU), meaning that it should preferably be one with flag from somewhere in EU, because of customs- and tax-fees to get it into Sweden. Where the Quasar is located is not a major problem, as long as it is sailable.
I know this is a long shot, but I have to try every source I can think of.
Hoping for luck, or at least perhaps some new interesting friends around the world.

Rolf

Here is a blog of a Quasar that's currently in Panama. The family is Canadian. Might want to try to contact them for information.

And another of a family about to start a journey on their Quasar:

I saw that boat, and it is an incredible boat. Not that I want that design, but The owners of that boat do exceptional work, and the boat appears to be in GREAT condition. I like doing work on my boat so that nothing is half assed and gets me in trouble, but I can not do good work like the owner of that boat does. If you are looking for one, I highly recomend you look at it.

Prout Quasar 50

I am new to this group as of today. I have been a member of the multihull group for many years. My wife is pushing us to start our cruising ASAP. We are still in our mid 40's and the plan that we both agreed on is to sell the Prout and move aboard a larger vessel. The move aboard is my wifes idea and my agreement is IF we went to a larger one. We have owned the Prout for almost 5 years now and loved every bit of her. She can take anything you throw at her. She is very sea kindly and ready to go.

When we purchased her, she needed a complete systems refit. We replaced most everything less the hulls. I built composites airplane kits for 15 years and with that said, she was a real fun to see the results of the refit. It has been a hard search for a replacement vessel that stands up to her construction. We try to use her weekly as we live on the ICW 4 miles from the Fort Pierce Inlet. She is ready for top coat paint from the top of the hulls - up. Other than that. Ready to go for her next adventure. You can view her at:

Hope that helps

Jeff, Good to see another GENUINE Prout built & designed by Prout
at Canvey Island in the United Kingdom
(Not one of the so called Prouts being touted as being built in Thailand and China - has anyone seen a real one on the water)

Here is a picture of another Genuine Prout the 50 Executive.
Class shines through! If Multihullers are interested - PM me
