Prout 50 Sandwich

Do anyone of you know what core material it is on the fore deck sandwich construction of a Prout 50 Quasar from the 80:s?
I ask because I am going to watch one with a teak deck (???) on the fore deck and I'm quite concerned about the idea, mainly because of the leaking risk but also the performance loss.
What's your idea?

I would think the core material is balsa, but am not sure. It's not unheard of for builders to switch core materials, depending on what is available at the time.
