Prout windows

What's the deal with the Prouts? I've seen various Quests, Snowgooses etc.. and they seem to have different window designs.

Some have aluminium fames and windows with rounded glass, others seem to have what looks like some form of tinted plastic and usually angular, but even then no two seem the same.

Did Prout change production methods at some point or is it just owners changing them?

Re: Prout windows

Hi-Probably yes and yes. My Snowgoose has previous owner window changes and I'll be doing some changes to some ports myself soon. It's not very hard to do as the Snowgoose style boats are made without any type of core.

Re: Prout windows

This is the thing I'm talking about. Two models from the same era, both with completely different windows, not just the windows themselves but the cuts in the coachroof for the windows.

I wonder can the former easily be changed to the latter

Re: Prout windows

Mike, the original windows were fixed glass in aluminum frames....ok for cold UK but not much ventilation in warmer climes. The tempered glass held up very well, not like the newer plastic glazing.
We added opening hatches to our Snowgoose.
Your second pic looked like an owner modernization.
