Thumbs up PSA for Multihull Enthusiasts Attending The Annapolis Boat Show

Chesapeake Multihull Association is hosting its annual boat show party at Union Jack's British Pub, 2072 Somerville Road, Annapolis MD, starting at 6:00 PM on Sunday, October 8. Whether you are a seasoned multihull sailor, new owner, or just curious you owe it to yourself to join our group of local multihull enthusiasts.

This year we are excited to have various boat show vendors as guest speakers, starting around 7:00 PM. Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and, of course, mingle with multihull sailors of all stripes. This ought to be fun and informative!

This is a free event, with appetizers; cash bar and dinner menu available at your discretion.

Let's try to talk a bit at the event. The association is a great resource in many ways, and we might be able to help you find you a boat you'll be happy to own.

Sounds great, Mike! I'll be the blond kid covered in bandages from a recent mountain biking skid

Have a great time. We're in Europe and won't be able to make it this year.

Mike, thanks for having us. It was nice meeting you all. We ducked out before the vendors spoke because we were going to dinner but Rich and Colleen will probably look to contact you soon. We will too when we get the boat and head back this way.

Re: PSA for Multihull Enthusiasts Attending The Annapolis Boat Show

Went onboard a variety of boats yesterday at the show. There were some real monster condo cats there. Dragonfly 28 tri was awesome (at $170K!) Mainecat was disappointing to me. The decks seemed to invite a slip into the drink, and it was a big ole green house in the 80 degree temps and high humidity of the day. The 42 lagoon felt absolutely massive.

Once again I was drawn back to the Seawind. They had the 1160 lite (roughly $320K) there, with outboards. Seems well built, though I didn't go through it with a fine-toothed comb. Nicely laid out.
The more perf-oriented 1190 sport was not there (roughly $360K), but it is on my dream shortlist I think. It is 1100 pounds lighter, taller mast, less wetted surface, daggers etc.

I agree, it seemed to me that there were more (and larger) cats at the show this year than in years past. And certainly not just for the large charter market, many were quite well appointed!

DF28 is pretty, but I think that quoted price is before all the (mostly necessary) options! Looking at the DF25 price list, for instance, there's a 1,295 euro option for an alcohol stove, fire extinguisher, and washing bowl ... Would have thought that would be standard! Not to mention the 485 Euro option for the mast raising system, which is sort of the point on a trailerable tri I would think Makes you wonder what Tony Smith was thinking pricing the Telstar 28 at $80k fully loaded and with a trailer.

I quite liked the Maine Cat, reminded me of a lower cost and more comfortable version of a Scape 39 with the opening front windows, but definitely a green house effect in there. Thinking of chartering a 30 in the abacos this winter and am excited the 38 will be available for charter in Maine next summer!
