Puget Sound, NW Multihull Zoom & In-person Meeting Jan 3 The Current Multihul Market

Greetings Multihullers!

Our January 3rd, 2023 meeting will feature Club Member, R2AK racer, and boat broker Scott Wallingford. Scott is at Wright Yachts, and specializes in the sale and commissioning of multihulls. Scott will discuss the evolution of the market for new and used multihulls since the arrival of Covid, and forecasts for the next year or two. It has been a wild ride, and Scott has had a seat in the front car of the roller coaster. Wright Yachts is a dealer for Corsair trimarans, and for Seawind Catamarans, both brands being sales leaders in their respective niches."

The meeting will be held in person at our usual meeting place, Puget Sound Yacht Club, at 2321 N. Northlake Way, Seattle. The meeting begins with a potluck at 6:15 PM, and the presentation will start at 7:00. The presentation will be streamed on Zoom and the link is below.

A bit late but here is a note i got this evening from our Commodore about tonights zoom meeting if you are in the market for a multihull.

Hi all-- I just went over Scott's presentation with him, and I gotta say that I think it will be really interesting, especially for anyone thinking about buying or selling a Multihull in 2023. He's got the numbers. Scott will also have a particular focus on the trimarans, a niche that tends to get overlooked amidst the sea of cruising cats.

The presenter Scott refers to a presentation to our club given by Frenchman Francois Perus a couple years ago. It is in reference to the Corsair 880. He is the designer of that boat (and the Pulse 600). Here it is in case you want to view it. It's pretty interesting to learn about how a boat is designed.
