Removing an MD2b.

I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who has removed an MD2b from a Prout Snowgoose mk1? I'm about to re-engine my boat and am about to take the old engine out but it looks such a tight fit that I don't know where to start. So, any information that might help would be more than welcome.

Not out of a Prout, but I have removed one from my own boat. About the only thing I can tell you is it is pretty easy to pull the transmission off at the bell housing (although it might take a couple of days with penetrating lubricant first), which can give you a significant length reduction if you need it.

Please post photos.I imagine dificulty is hoisting out? Or just general disconnecting? Photos certainly will help for ideas.

Re: Removing an MD2b.

If too heavy, dismount the parts (wheel, exhaust, starter, head, etc.). Messy but makes the lifting lighter.
