It will be on after this thread. I guess you may as well keep going so that this thread gets locked or deleted because that is no doubt what you want given the title.

Re: Ridiculous Seawind 1160 Prices

Not at all - happy to have the thread continue, as I posted very early on, the prices are set by owners - no one else.

EDIT after reading Dirk Digs post below - Yes buyers have an impact I agree, what I was trying to say is that brokers and dealers and manufacturers don't set prices.

In my industry the vendors set asking prices but ultimately the buyers have the big say on market prices.Everything sells for a price.

I think all boats have taken a real dip in Australia,it was just delayed compared to the rest of the world

Whats the pluses of having it down?
Galley down usually means more workable room in the galley and a larger salon. I think this really holds true in cats maybe 38' and smaller. Galley up in the smaller models make for a small galley and an uncomfortable salon. The galley down will have less motion in a seaway and less chance of being thrown around. Six of one half dozen of another.
I think the best quote I've seen come out of this thread is some boats are designed from the outside, making sail handling and performance their strong points. Other boats are designed around the inside, making their strong points their livability. Which one you desire is a personal choice.

"Under Contract" and the last listing price ($369,000) are not the same as the agreed upon sale price. Only number I'll believe will be after I see a SOLD sign and someone with access to Soldboats.com confirms the final number.

Factor, we have gone back-and-forth a bit about where the prices should be but I do appreciate you posting valuable information about the 1160.

If you can trust the selling price the broker posts on sold boats.com!

For those in Sydney, there will be a Seawind 1000 and 1160 on display here:

So come along and see if you can stand up in the saloon

If you are there Glenn, have a look in board and tell me what you think in reference to my comments. Then compare it to a Logoon or FP if they have one.

Yes, and if you get a chance do a test sail and also compare to the Lagoon and FP!

Now guys why would you take any notice of a dedicated mono hull owner.

If I was to have stereo boat, the Seawind 1160 would be on my shortlist. I'm not a big fan of the French cats, but that's just from what I've seen at boat shows, and anyway I'm a mono man, so my opinion is not really that relevant.
