rigging jib furling on a trimaran

Hi folks,
Are there any photos of furling rig set ups for Trimarans . I have a Cross 38 the furling line runs straight to a clutch . No ratchet setup, there is always a problem with furling .
thanks
Rich

The most important thing (cats and tris), depending on where you’re leading the furling line, is the angle to your block, fairlead, etc… On my Corsair 36 it led down to a stand up block, then straight up the deck to the clutch by the winch. Zoom in on the pic.

Not sure why that’s upside down; it isn’t like that on either of my machines. ☹️ Click on it, save, edit to turn around and save.

But to the thread -

It shouldn't matter that your furler is on a tri - it should be fine to furl. My older style Hood Seafurl (on my 38ft cat) got hard to furl and I checked it by going forward and pulling straight from the drum. It was still hard to furl -so it got pulled apart, bearings replaced and now it is sweet. So go up front in light winds and check if it is the way the lines are led, or inside the furler itself.

cheers

Phil

Re: rigging jib furling on a trimaran

I am waiting for my jib and staysails to be delivered, and fitted on my first roller furlers since building my boat many years ago. I will send pics when I can take them. Mine will be led down the portside deck to rope clutches on the cabinside.
