ROAM 48 ft

Well worth a watch of the video as much as you may not enjoy the music.

Apologies is this has already been posted.

It's a Spirited Designs Spirited 480 - first of type home built in Tasmania.

Their website: Sail Surf ROAM

I have no affiliation with this boat but have read all about it. I'm impressed with the speeds and storage they have in particular. It's not a Lagoon in terms of accommodation but makes up for it in performance.

Re: ROAM 48 ft

Saw it at St helens when I was there recently (April, Targa Tassie) nice looking boat and looked to be carefully thought out. Average 9 knots with main and jib, thats going nicely and on that second day if they had a assy they could have kept the speeds up a bit more.

It's a great design and had a great feature in one of the MultiHull mags a few months ago.

They've got some great vids on Vimeo too, thanks for the tip.

Its a custom build, there is no "Price" for the boat, you by the plans off Craig Schionning, build it yourself or get a professional to do it, fit it out similarly from basic to luxury. So the is no "price" per se.

Re: ROAM 48 ft

A new and professionally built Spirited 380 with basic electronics and cruise sails will set you back A$550K. As for a 480, I'd be thinking well beyond A$850K and approaching/exceeding A$1M if well set up for cruising. Not cheap, but personalized, light, and at the faster end of the cruise/performance spectrum. Looks like a fine boat and an interesting crew on a mission to enjoy themselves to the max. I really liked their surfboard locker in the bow, seen on one of their prior videos. Well thought out boat for the task.
