SAIL best boats Gunboat G4

Gunboat G4 best performance boat over 30ft

Interesting to see it close up

I wonder if the "stop button" for releasing the main is a new, post capsize feature?

Not knowing any better I would expect it to be tied to an AHARS, exceed X angle of heel and it would automatically release the sheet, think electronic stability system in an automobile.
Which begs the next question, what happens when your flying and all the sudden the main gets dumped? Could be rather violent?

Re: SAIL best boats Gunboat G4

The emergency dump button isn't new. But, and it's a big but, they trippled the size of the dump valve. I think from 3/4" to 2.25".

The same issue arose with the MAXI tris, that the hydrolic lines weren't big enough in an emergency to depower the boat quickly enough to matter.

Given that this seems to be a recurring problem in these hydrolic mainsheet designs I wonder what numbers the engineers are using.
