Can you be more specific about needing the bowsprit fixed?
Thanks

Line chaff at the exit point on the sprit tension line, needs to have a roller exit block on the pole.

Hi Andrew
Yet again fantastic video. I learn a lot about simple things like your setup from watching. My boat hopefully arrives about 4 weeks.
Do you have any general or specific observations now that you have been sailing the boat a little while? Anything you would have setup differently? Any faults of note. Any modifications you have done. Thanks for your help. Graeme

Hi Graeme,

thanks for the feedback on the video,

main mods that I have added have been a Daewoo Mini Washing machine in the forward starboard bow, and Air-conditioning x 2 to allow for more comfortable sleeping at night in the Tropics, both conditioners can be isolated separately and run via a Honda Genset. Rest of the boat is standard as per the original order however I did order the wider settee options when I first ordered the boat which is awesome (highly recommend this).

Things I would change if Ordering New Again:

1) Get the factory to install 3 extra Skin Fittings for after installation of Aircons, watermaker, etc

2) Get rid of the Aft Starboard Cabin and turn this into a walk in pantry and locker room. The original (bed) layout was due to the inboard diesels but now not required so a walk in Pantry would make better use of the space as no one will ever want to sleep in this aft cabin. (too small)

Problems:
Only major issue has been with the solar panels, cant run my freezers without flattening the 450amp house batteries (800 watt panels are only producing around 20 amps, max) , believe this was due to a defective batch from the factory in china, soon to be replaced with new panels.

Sail Performance:
very happy with the way the boat sails, if you are going to be based where winds are 10 to 12 average (True Wind) then best to add the bow sprit and code zero.

Upwind performance: Goes upwind like a rocket using the hanked on jib with very little leeway. When the boat is powered up (14 knts True) , was able to sail upwind easily at 7knots. Minimal leeway, even tested this over a 1 mile stretch aiming at a marker buoy on Sunday. Had to correct at the last second as we were going to hit the Buoy! (this was with the boat fully powered, and when the wind reached 15 knots we had to reef the boat as apparent wind was around 22 knots)

enjoy your new boat when it arrives,

cheers
Andrew

Thought I might post some light entertainment of the boat still being used, sadly the water was too murky to dive this weekend but still had fun just cruising south of Singapore.

cheers
Andrew

Hey Andrew,

What is your impression of the 1190 Sport? Given the option would you have gotten that over the 1160 Lite?

Thanks,

meatservo
