Seeking a good surveyor in the Chesapeake Bay area

Florida boat search in Florida didn't turn up anything to excite us but we have been told of a cat in The Chesapeake Bay area that is very attractive to us.

So can you guys point me in the direction of a good surveyor and maybe somebody to check and test the diesels thoroughly? Preferably somebody who uses thermal imaging as part of their process.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Seeking a good surveyor in the Chesapeake Bay area

Richard & Gill,

Try Williams Marine Survey. Williams Marine Survey

Allan "Buddy" Williams is out of Baltimore, and does all his own surveys--no hired surveyors.

Buddy surveyed a Fountaine Pajot Tobago 35 for me in Annapolis and a Lagoon 35ccc in Rock Hall, MD. Both boats appear on his web site page of pictures of sailboats he has surveyed.

I have had four marine surveys done and Buddy's two surveys are by far the most detailed and complete.

The last one I had done was in Washington state, a little too far for him to travel and too expensive to pay for his expenses to get there. While I didn't get a "bad" survey, and have had no problems with my boat, the survey out there was nowhere near as complete or detailed as Buddy's surveys are.

I believe the Lagoon 35 he surveyed for me was the first catamaran he did, but he has surveyed several since then.

If the link to his site is deleted for any reason, PM or email me and I will send you his contact information.

Good luck with your search.

Marshall

The Chesapeake is kinda big... if you can narrow it down a bit, folks might be able to help more...
