Seeking location to careen a catamaran in Pacific Costa Rica or Panama

Hola, Amigos!

We’re currently in El Salvador en route to Costa Rica and Panama. There are some minor jobs I need to do below the water line: replacing an underwater light and applying Propspeed on my props. These do not warrant the hassle, disruption and cost of a haul-out.

Does anyone have experience careering in these waters? If so, can you recommend a specific location with lat/long and details?

Many thanks!
Captain Mark

I meant “careening in these waters.”

I don't think you want somewhere to careen a catamaran, just a beach with firm sand and a decent tidal range allowing you to dry out for 2 or 3 hours a couple of days before a full or half moon.

Indeed, I can careen on a beach or sand bank as well. What I’m asking for is specific suitable location details. For anyone who’s careened before, factors like tidal range, current, exposure to swell and bottom substrate are all important. I’ve done it in the past. Now, I need location advice, please!

Tidal ranges on the Pacific side of the Panama Canal can be 20 ft at springs.

I’m aware of that, thanks. Now, all I need are specific locations with sandy bottoms and calm waters!

That’s exactly what I needed, THANK YOU! As fate should have it, the Navionics Bing Satellite image has a photo of a catamaran careened right there: https://boating.page.link/eZPD9MGJXmHg28Fq7. Perfect.
