The stupid money response was coarse and pointless, but so is the "obvious DIY rig" comment. 3-strand splicing is simple to learn, is seamanship 101, and it would be a mistake to presume that the "professional" that did the work for money was highly skilled. I've seen some pretty shaky professional splices, and I'm pretty sure that most of the posters on this thread can turn out a professional quality 3-strand splice with a beer and one eye closed. They wouldn't even look at it as work.

Learning how to splice will also open up your eyes regarding what can be done and how it works. There are many ways to make a bridle. The Mantus bridle uses a Y-splice. Others prefer two separate legs. Most prefer a bridle to cleats rather than shackles for anchoring, so that it can be released under load.

That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with ordering what you need. I don't do machine sewing, because I'm not very good at it. Just don't look down at DIYs that are highly skilled. They enjoy the craft and enjoy a high level of self-sufficiency, something that is impossible to buy when cruising in remote areas.

Did you look for a supplier? Or Google it? Walk in to any marine center and ask? Rope splicing services are listed in every catalog I have ever thumbed through.

Another good resource for splicing and indeed knots of any kind is ANIMATED KNOTS by Grog
