Re: Spinnaker or Code 0

The "Code D" is not really what most call a Code 0 but, UK Sails name for a straight luff asymmetrical spinnaker. See, https://www.uksailmakers.com/news/20...sing-spinnaker This sail can sail up to 80 degrees apparent wind angle but, not as high as a real Code 0. It does have a straight luff and a fair amount of roach in the leech. In order to support all this extra round in the lee4ch, the sail needs to be quite full and use a stretchy material line spinnaker nylon or polyester.
Our Code 0 sails have a straight luff with anti torque luff cable but, a straight or slightly hollow leech to allow a flatter shape for sailing closer to the wind and in higher winds. These Code 0s are also made of a more stable Code 0 cloth, other laminates, or triradial cut dacrons. This allows for a light weight UV strip on the leech and foot so the sail can be left up, furled, for length of times. This is the easiest sail to use for a short handed, husband and wife team.

Re: Spinnaker or Code 0

https://deltavoiles.com/wp-content/u...code-D-ENG.pdf

Deltavoiles claims to have invented it and it's their sails I see a lot of the outremers running. Who knows. Peopleprobably have ordered something similar from sailmakers before these guys started naming it the code D

Rolly Taskers just came out with a code C last year which is basically the same thing.

https://www.rollytasker.com/en/news/...135%20degrees.

Seem like it's going to be the next big thing.
