Stolen Sailboat story

Anybody see this? Seems kinda unreal!
You steal a huge sailboat...then run it aground, then refuse to get off?
Darwin needs to step in here.....

I like the guy who said this shouldn't have happened because the boat would have had navigation equipment aboard.

What kind of navigation equipment is necessary to avoid washing up on a beach?
