SUNREEF, please beware

I have owned a sunreef 60 for 2 years. For the last year and a half I have battled with them as the gel coat started to deteriorate after only 10 MONTHS.
Sunreef in their usual after sales manner deny , deny deny.

I and many Sunreef owners are sick of their lack of service so I am now telling the world to be very careful if you are buying one of their boats.
EVERY SUNREEF OWNER I have met shares similar storied.

That’s shocking, I always wanted one but given the way they treat owners I will cross sunreef off my list

Gel coat on my 50 year old runabout is perfect. One wonders what kind of bozos run this Sungrief outfit. Lots of stories like yours about bad new boats and unresponsive manufacturers. Some cough up and pay to have it fixed by more qualified workmen and move on. Thats a tough pill to swallow. I wish you best of luck.

JC, could you add some photos so that other owners or potential owners can see what to look for or be aware of?

Re: SUNREEF, please beware

I am looking at purchasing a SunReef 50ft and am concerned that there is little or no service from them.

Has there been an update to your situation and have you experienced any other problems with the sunReef catamarans?

Re: SUNREEF, please beware

Had my new Sunreef 60 delivered recently. I had quite a few problems, but they were solved almost immediately, as in their Service team flying out multiple times to fix the issues. Overall I am a happy client for now. Hope this helps.

Thanks Bowtienot,

The 60ft has also become an option for me. What in particular were the problems with the 60ft that you have encountered?

Re: SUNREEF, please beware

Nothing that couldnt be sorted out swiftly. Light configs , a minor leak, etc. Rig tensioning was one that concerned me the most, but they redid the rigging and it's perfect now.

The point is, they were always there to solve my issues. This is just my experience, can't speak for others.

The fittings in the boat are amazing. It's a good buy if you want the comfort and don't mind the speed. I fitted mine with a Jacuzzi and the kids absolutely love it.

I think it depends on your agent on how they handle your problem, not only sunreef had some issues but even lagoon with tons of problem.
