The Milk Run

Still in the planning stage. The wife and I would like to spend a year or so in the Carrib then head across the Pacific on the Milk Run. A lot of folks sail across in one season. I prefer to spend two or three years exploring the Pacific, the question is how... There are articles and books with a few suggestions. I am looking for advice from fellow sailors regarding itinerary ideas. Let me know the good hurricane holes, and also places to dry dock for the occasional trip home.
